Frank Jesse

Franks yoga journey started in the late1970s as a student of Iyengar Yoga.

Following extensive training with esteemed senior Iyengar teachers in Australia and regular visits to India to study with Yoga master  B.K.S Iyengar and his family, Frank established the Clifton Hill Iyengar Yoga Studio in 1995. At that time, it was among the few dedicated Iyengar Studios in Melbourne.

Over the subsequent 14 years, he cultivated a substantial and dedicated following.

In 2009, Frank made the decision to sell his thriving yoga school, one of Melbournes most beloved and esteemed yoga institutions, to embark on a new venture. In collaboration with his partner, Jane, he opened Griffins Hill Retreat, a yoga school and yoga retreat centre situated in Dunkeld, at the foot of Gariwerd National Park.

Frank has dedicated over 45 years to the practice of Iyengar Yoga and has been teaching for more than 35 years.

Practice is fundamental to teaching Iyengar Yoga. Through consistent practice, we acquire a profound understanding of the precise alignment and actions required in each asana. We gain insights into the physiological effects of the asana on our bodies and nervous systems, enabling us to safely guide others towards this transformative experience.
